The Center for Research on Education Outcomes (CREDO) at Stanford University just released the results from its in-depth analysis of all charter school networks nationwide. Houston Gateway Academy Charter Schools (HGA) are ranked #1 nationally in math and #21 nationally in reading.
Using sophisticated multi-year analysis, CREDO is able to determine how well students perform academically compared to their peers in charter and traditional public schools. The impact of attending HGA Charter Schools is equivalent to getting an extra 210 school days of math instruction and 87 school days of reading instruction EVERY YEAR.
Rather than looking at raw standardized test scores, CREDO researchers quantify the impact of a school by looking at student improvement on the tests relative to other schools. The researchers then translate those results into an equivalent number of "days of learning" gained or lost in a 180-day school year.
From Pre-Kindergarten through 12th grade, HGA offers high-quality education as evidenced by strong academic performance year after year.
