I am Ms. Mendoza, I have been a 3rd Grade teacher at Houston Gateway Academy for 4 years, I am bilingual certified, and love to help my students grow.  

 

My goal is to do as much as I can to help my scholars and I will continue to do so during this difficult time. Even though we are not able to see each other face to face, I will continue to provide an excellent education for our scholars. I will provide an easy to follow action plan so that each parent and I can work together as a team to make this possible.

 

We are not able to go to school and I am not able to teach our scholars the way we used to, but I know that we can adapt and we can succeed. 

 

I will keep you updated, every week I will post:

 

-Lesson plans: Click on the tab called At-Home Learning Plan, go to the third grade section and you will be able to find the weekly lesson plan that will include the assignments due from Monday through Friday.

 

-Weekly Resources: Click on the specific week that you would like to see to find anchor charts and videos for our scholars to watch at the beginning of the week to help them understand the TEKS for that week. Here you will also find the dates and times for Zoom conferences.

 

-ClassDojo: I will be using this app to keep scholars and parents updated. I will post daily schedules including the activities of the day, reminders for Zoom meetings, pictures, etc.

 

-ZOOM: I will schedule Zoom meetings through out the week to introduce the TEKS of the week, explain some problems, and help scholars in a small group session. I will be sending the information and links through ClassDojo.

 

-Khan Academy: I will post math activities every week related to a specific TEK. If a scholar does not remember his or her username and password, feel free to contact me.

 

-Spelling City: I will post spelling activities every week related to a specific TEK. If a scholar does not remember his or her username and password, feel free to contact me.
